Dr. Karen Lovato
DDS
For an endodontist, one of the things that is most fulfilling is helping to get patients out of pain. It’s exciting when patients say that their root canal experience wasn’t as bad as they expected. It’s nice to allay the fears of the “dreaded root canal.”

Getting the opportunity to help people is the biggest reason why I chose to enter the dental field. I attended Creighton University School of Dentistry for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery, and then practiced as a general dentist for three years before choosing a specialty. After selecting endodontics, I attended Oregon Health and Sciences University for my endodontics residency. As an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, I attend various CE classes throughout the year to keep up to date on new endodontic techniques and research.

Born and raised in Albuquerque, I enjoy hiking and other outdoor activities. I am also passionate about music and spending time with my family.
